Thank you for considering Salterhebble as a school for your child. Our prospectus is written by the school community for parents and prospective parents and we hope that it will provide you with the information which you require.
All parents want an excellent education for their children, but they also want them to be happy and to feel safe and secure. At Salterhebble, we believe we can offer all these things. We pride ourselves on the broad, balanced and full education we provide, and the high standard of teaching and learning. Working together, our school community is committed to inspiring our future generations in order to achieve educational excellence. We aim to develop children's individual talents and characters, developing a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning. We are committed to inclusion, believing that every child has the right to succeed. We take responsibility to ensure that barriers to learning are overcome and that all children succeed in realising their potential to be the best they can be; irrespective of their backgrounds or starting points.
Our children respond very well to our high expectations and work hard, taking pride in their achievements and in their school. They are polite and courteous and these qualities are commented on by visitors to school. All children are valued and are taught to value others. Our School Councillors work hard to represent the views and needs of our children, ensuring that our children feel listened to.
As Headteacher, I am committed to making sure learning is engaging so that our children have every opportunity to be the best that they can be. My aim is for our children to become life-long learners and responsible, healthy young people who make an outstanding contribution in an ever-changing world. I strongly believe that school is the opportunity for children to discover and unlock hidden talents... I look forward to seeing your children flourish at Salterhebble!
